The electrofusion HDPE fittings refers to a plastic (polyethylene) pipe fitting that can be melted to reach the connection by the current generated by the current. The PE pipe fitting is connected by electrofusion, and the interface strength is higher than that of the pipe itself, and the connection is very strong.
The main function of the HDPE electrofusion 45° elbow is to achieve reliable connection and diversion between polyethylene pipe systems by means of electric fusion connection. It has high connection reliability and good low-temperature impact resistance. This elbow is part of the polyethylene pipe system and can withstand a connection strength higher than the strength of the pipe itself, ensuring that there will be no leakage of the medium during the connection process.
The HDPE electrofusion 45° elbow is one of the HDPE Electrofusion Fittings, which contains an electric heating coil that melts the plastic of the fittings and pipes, so that they fuse together.
The electric fusion control unit (ECU) provides the power required for the heating coil. When the coil is energized, the material close to it melts to form an expansion pool, which contacts the surface of the pipe. The continuously introduced heat energy causes the surface of the pipe to melt, resulting in a mixture of the pipe melt and the fitting melt. This is essential for flawless welding. After the thermal cycle is over, the fittings and pipes are cooled, and the molten material solidifies to form a firm joint.
The pipe surface must be scraped with an appropriate pipe scraper to remove the entire surface of the pipe to a depth of approximately 0.3 mm, as recommended by the pipe or fitting manufacturer.
After scraping, the scraped surface must be wiped with a wipe soaked in isopropyl alcohol as recommended by the pipe or fitting manufacturer to remove dust residues. It is not recommended to wipe with methylated spirits, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) or other solvents; scrape the surface. The prepared surface must be completely dry before processing.
Operation Specifications, the fused joint is as strong as the pipe and can withstand all loads applied during normal installation and operation.
